25th Anniversary Benefit Concert Will Be Family Affair at Radio City Music Hall

CHF co-founder Paul Simon and his wife Edie Brickell will headline a star-studded 25th Anniversary Benefit Concert at Radio City Music Hall this October 4th as reported by the New York Post's Page Six. Other families joining Paul and Edie to help raise money for children's health are spouses James Taylor and Caroline Taylor, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Vince Gill and Amy Grant, Tina Fey and Jeff Richmond as well as Stevie Wonder and his daughter Aisha Morris.  More special guests are in store, so continue to check the CHF Annual Benefit page for additional updates!

Dr. Irwin Redlener, President of Children's Health Fund, issues statement regarding the Supreme Court Ruling on the Affordable Care Act

The decision by the U.S. Supreme Court to uphold the essence of the Affordable Care Act is good news for America's children. With nearly 10 million children lacking health insurance and at least 15 million with insurance who experience other barriers to getting care, the ACA represents extraordinary progress toward the goal of making sure that no child is denied timely access to quality medical care.

Mobile Clinic Serving Underprivileged Children Visits New Rochelle

Sitting in the parking lot of Temple Israel of New Rochelle Tuesday was a big blue RV-like vehicle.  The "mobile medical clinic" is owned and operated by the Children's Health Fund, an organization that provides state-of-the-art health care to, among others, children housed in New York City homeless shelters and their families.

Dion Williams, Health Coordinator of Forest Houses’ elementary after-school program, was in trouble. He’d just walked into the Forest Houses Community Center with a late-afternoon snack and instantly found himself at the center of a chorus of disapproval. The reason? His meal. It had been deemed unhealthy.

“I’ve got corn!” Williams protested. “Corn and tofu. I’ve got string beans. String beans are healthy!”

At least it was progress. Williams’ accusers were the children enrolled in Starting Right, a pediatric obesity-prevention and treatment program run at Forest Houses in collaboration with The South Bronx Health Center For Children and Families, a program of The Children’s Health Fund and The Children’s Hospital of Montefiore.
