In April 2008, U. S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced the selection of Irwin Redlener, M.D., president of the Children’s Health Fund and director of the National Center for Disaster Preparedness at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health, to serve as one of her two appointments to the National Commission on Children and Disasters (NCCD).
