These Children are Healthy Because of You By Dennis Walto, CEO

As you gather with your loved ones to enjoy each other’s company and give thanks, we want you to know how Children’s Health Fund kept children healthy this past year:

  • In 2019 we delivered brand new, state-of-the-art mobile medical clinics to our partners in Miami and New York. We also added a clinical program in New Jersey and greatly expanded our programming in Arizona, New Orleans, and Nevada. This means more children will have access to the life-sustaining healthcare they need.
  • Our Healthy and Ready to Learn Initiative is changing the course of student’s lives for the better. Schools in Harlem and the Bronx that benefit from our programs now outperform their districts in both English Language Arts and Math tests!

Baby Noel’s Journey

Despite our work in New York and many other locations across the country, there are still millions of children who lack access to high-quality comprehensive healthcare: children like Noel in New Orleans.

Noel, a six-month-old, and his mother were held at a frigid border detention center where he developed pneumonia. Noel received the life-saving medical care, medicine, and other supports at the CHF-supported New Orleans Children’s Health Project that allowed him to fully recover from that harrowing experience.

Give to children like Noel

Sophia’s Bright Future

We’ve ensured that no child is ever turned away based on their ability to pay: children like Sophia in the South Bronx.

Sophia came into the world with serious medical complications due to Down syndrome. At this very difficult time, her mother struggled with homelessness. The CHF-supported New York Children’s Health Project helped turn their lives around.Dr. Justin Kopa and his team not only helped both Sophia and her mom with medical care, but also advocated on their behalf so that they were granted affordable housing and funds to cover the first year’s rent and furnishings.

Today, Noel and Sophia are thriving.

Stronger for 2020

Even with the progress that has been made over the past few decades, the need for the kinds of services provided by the programs supported by Children’s Health Fund across the country continues to grow, and though the year has not yet ended, we are already gearing up for 2020.

Your support fuels our shared vision of a world where all children have the healthy bodies and minds they need to succeed! Donate now to change the course of children’s lives in 2020.

Together, we can make a difference.
