Calls for Candidates to Discuss Poverty Grow Louder

The first presidential debate was "notable for what was never discussed: Poverty" notes a Washington Post editorial on October 4.  The editorial, which quotes CHF president Dr. Irwin Redlener picks up on a call from child advocacy leaders for the candidates to address this critical issue for the future of our nation.  Just the week before, CHF co-founders Paul Simon and Dr. Irwin Redlener began bringing more prominence to this issue with an appearance on MSNBC’s Morning Joe. “The consequences of not getting [children] the health care they need…will be an unfolding disaster that will not only affect our present, but our future,” Dr. Redlener.
