health care visits

health care visits have been provided to some of our nation's poorest children and families through 22 Children's Health Fund programs in urban and rural communities during the first three years of Idol Gives Back support.

more children and family members now receive medical, mental health, dental, and other critical services from Children's Health Fund programs annually;  Idol Gives Back expanded Children's Health Fund's National Network's capacity from 55,000 patients a year to 75,000.

additional health care professionals are now working in medical professional shortage areas across the U.S., including 8 pediatricians, 5 dental professionals, 6 social workers or case managers and 2 nutritionists.

new Children's Health Fund "Doctors' Offices on Wheels" (mobile medical, dental and mental health clinics) are on the road throughout the United States including Louisiana, Texas, and New York.

more pediatric programs underway, including:

  • a dynamic new program launched in Southern Arizona in 2009 that cares for special needs children.
  • two mobile health care programs, set to open soon, in medically-underserved areas of the United States.
