Polo Benefit Luncheon

CHF held it’s inaugural Polo benefit luncheon on Sunday, September 19, 2004. The benefit was a great success and was attended by philanthropic and business leaders from throughout the tri-state area, as well as over 50 children. Children of all ages enjoyed the days activities which included a fashion show featuring Versace Fall/Winter 2004/2005 collection, a live and silent auction, quality time with Elmo, a special Polo demonstration and a tour of one of our Mobile Medical Units.

Gary E. Knell, President & CEO of the Sesame Workshop, and Elmo were honored with CHF’s 2004 Humanitarian Award for the work Sesame Workshop has done over the years for children around the globe.

Paul Shaffer, Musical Director of The Late Show served as the Master of Ceremonies and Bill Evans, Eyewitness News Meteorologist was the auctioneer for the live auction. Paul Simon presented winning bidder, Cathy Shaffer, with a signed guitar that he donated.

The 2004 Gold Cup award ceremony included one of our Title Sponsors, Guy Smith, Vice President External Affairs DIAGEO presenting the DIAGEO Best Playing Pony Blanket.

A warm THANK YOU to all our friends, old and new, whom supported the benefit and especially to our Title Sponsors – Aviva & Carl Saphier, DIAGEO, Sisley and Versace.
