The awards are rolling in for the medical staff on the Children's Health Fund mobile clinic in Detroit!

Clinical Coordinator Tonya Kaminski received the Clara Ford Nursing Excellence Award from her employer – and Children’s Health Fund partner – the Henry Ford Health System. The award honors an employee who “consistently delivers The Henry Ford Experience, demonstrates professional behavior, is engaged in his or her work, and continually delivers outstanding customer service.”

Dr. Elliott Attisha, the clinic’s medical director, was honored as a Community Champion by Molina Healthcare of Michigan. The award “spotlights the good deeds of everyday heroes in their communities.”

"Dr. Attisha’s compassion for the youth he sees means that children who once had no primary care physician to call their own, now have a medical provider who is dedicated to their well-being,” said Stephen Harris, president of Molina Healthcare of Michigan.

The mobile medical clinic – known as Health Alliance for Neighborhood Kids, or HANK – has served children at schools and community centers in low-income neighborhoods since early 2011.

"This is a great honor," said Dr. Attisha. "But it's the entire HANK team that deserves it."
